Seeing Natali, scooter gear

I finally got some more pictures uploaded to Flickr, among them are new pictures of Natali from this weekend when we took a quick trip to Longview.

I love that funny face she makes! It looks hilarious with the new teeth coming in! :-)

Also, a few pictures here of all the pieces of scooter gear which have finally come together. Here we have me in my helmet and motorcycle jacket, which is mesh and has great airflow, but also has full built-in armor for protection:

And here is the latest addition to the bike itself, a specially ordered license plate which I hope will help people with their frustration when they're stuck behind me, since I can only go 30 mph max:

I'm hoping you can see it, but it says "IM SLOW PLS PASS"!

Happy Birthday, Natali!

Sunday was Natali's first birthday!! We drove to Longview after church to attend her party. We would have come earlier in the day or the weekend but we had to take care of babies at church that morning so it was a day of babies for us. I don't think my pictures came out that great but Christina put some on their site also, and the exciting news about Natali taking independent steps while we were there!!

Baby pictures!

This weekend, we went to see my family, just for dinner, and got to hang out with my niece!
All that time she did all these cute things, and we only got 2 good pictures.
That's because I was taking pictures and I am not very good at it.
She has a new trick: she will put both her arms straight up in the air like "yay!". So, we started doing it too, every time she did it. We started this in the van, she was in the middle seat and Christian, my brother and I were in the back seat.
She would look and us and raise both her arms, and then all three of us would raise our arms in the air and say "yay!". She thought this was pretty funny. She started doing it randomly. We would be talking and have to stop and raise our hands in the air and say "yay!". It was pretty hilarious. We were laughing so much.

I have also posted pictures of Amelia's second birthday. I can't believe she's two! And one picture of her new little brother, Max, in the photostream on Flickr as well.

Christmas pics

Today we are cleaning out the closet and storage that has been in the guestroom and I am uploading photos and videos of Christmas! I finally have a Flickr Pro account, which means I can upload more photos and create more photo sets. Here are some main shots, click on them to see the whole set or to see other photos:
* NOTE: You will have to be listed as one of my Friends or Family on Flickr in order to see these photos. My screenname is ynnejdorfdarb. Log in to www.Flickr.com using your Yahoo or Flickr account, find me, and add me as a friend so that I can then add you as Friend or Family.

First, I have a whole set of photos of Natali (my niece) and her Christmas:
Next, there are a few of Christmas Day - click on this photo to see pictures of gifts and after-lunch gun-shooting. Yes, this is East Texas :-)
And finally, a video of Natali opening gifts! My camera does not have sound, so I put a song over it. She is the cutest!!

I've been blogging...but only in my head

Does anyone else do this: I write blog posts in my head that I never get a chance to post. It just seems like things go really fast in life and I don't get to stop and record it much lately.

Right now we're in the middle of the last scientific conference I'll have to work for the Association before my last day on Wednesday. It's one of the 2 times a year I have to work in evenings at this job. So I'm sitting in the coffee shop of the worship center of our church using the free Wi-Fi, hoping that the email will be approved to send before my Celebrate Recovery small group starts at 7:20. I hope that I get to make it into group tonight, but at the moment it's not looking promising.

It's weird to be at work while everyone is in Orlando at this conference, knowing I'll be gone when they get back. I really will miss a lot of the people, and it's been a great environment to work in, other than the fact that I've had to spam people for a living.

I am taking Thursday and Friday off and then starting the new job next Wednesday. Christian has taken the same days off work to use up his time off that he'd otherwise lose at the end of the year. During the week off, we are going to East Texas to babysit my niece on Thursday. Friday we are going to spend an entire day (9 hours) watching all 3 of the Lord Of The Rings movies back-to-back. Sunday and Monday we are going camping at Enchanted Rock. Somewhere in there, I need to learn SQL for my new job!

Silly pictures

Today we got to hang out with my brother and sister-in-law and they brought Natali to play with us! We took some pictures which we have not uploaded into the camera yet. I know how to do it but I don't know how to turn the .pef format into web-safe .jpg so we'll have to wait on that.

Christian and I were playing with the Apples iPhoto and I think we got a good picture of what our marriage probably looks like through his eyes with the distortion effects:
Just kidding...I think. We also got these. They're kinda weird!

My niece!!

Well, we turned right around and didn't go camping this weekend since my niece was born. We got to Longview just in time to get to hold her after she was washed!!

We actually have some much bigger and better pictures that Chr needs to upload to his Flickr soon. So we will do that and I will link to them.

She is super beautiful - she has slender fingers that everyone says means she will be able to play the piano. She does this funny thing where she opens only one eye and looks around like Popeye. But, I don't want to steal my brother's thunder - he can tell you about it on his blog! But I do need to say this: my sister-in-law delivered without an epidural, naturally. I have to brag on that and also be in fear because the bar has now been set!!! I am so proud of her and of my brother!!
